Las 7 nuevas maravillas elegidas por votación global

Frente a una multitud de unos 50,000 espectadores y una audiencia televisaba de varios millones, se hicieron públicos los resultados de la votación para elegir las 7 nuevas maravillas (New7Wonders) en el estadio Benéfica de Lisboa , Portugal, el sábado 7 de julio (07/07/07).

Más de 100 millones de votos se han contado en esta votación global en donde personas de todo el mundo han tenido la oportunidad de elegir a través de la internet.

Los presentadores Bipasha Basu, Hilary Swank y Ben Kingsley fueron los encargados de anunciar al mundo las 7 maravillas finalistas:

• La Gran Muralla de China
• Petra, Jordania
• El Cristo, Brasil
• Machu Picchu, Perú
• Chichén Itzá, México (portada)
• El Coliseo Romano, Italia
• El Taj Mahal, India

Bernard Weber, presidente y fundador de la Fundación New7Wonders, y Amir Dossal, director de la Oficina de Alianzas de las Naciones Unidas, presentaron placas a todos los finalistas.
