Delaware’s Extreme Makeover airs on Sunday, March 30, 8 pm on ABC
Anderson Homes, based in Middletown, together with ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition design team and hundreds of local subcontractors and volunteers built two homes for two deserving Wilmington families in just under a week’s time.
The Latif family and their next-door neighbor Rose Chatman, known as Grandma Rose, received the “door knock” on February 5, informing them that their homes had been selected to receive an extreme makeover. Demolition and construction were scheduled to start on the next day, on February 6.
Ju-Juanna Latif is a single, working mother of four children, including a nine-year-old son with cerebral palsy. She has made her way through the welfare system and has succeeded in buying a home for her family. She works now as a welfare fraud analyst.
Their homes were located on 32 and 34 South Clayton St. Upon returning from vacation, the new homes were revealed on February 12.
In addition to building these two new homes the team also remodeled the facades and roofs of all the houses of the block across the street from Latif’s home.
This show, first time in Delaware, is scheduled for Sunday, March 30th on national ABC Television Network.
Below is how the new house looked on Saturday, Feb. 9, after 3 days of intensive construction.
