Less than a month after the difficult Democratic primary for governor, I am impressed with the level of unity, support and enthusiasm going into the General Election. Jack Markell and Matt Denn's joint budget plan press conference yesterday (October 2) drew a crowd of Democratic State Representatives and candidates eager to support their plan to trim the government and control the budget.

With a supportive legislature working to implement Matt and Jack's detailed proposal, I am confident that Delaware can stabilize its budget and create a more efficient government. We need leaders that understand how to make long-term investing in areas with high return, like healthcare and education, while working to reduce administrative costs and inefficient or out of date operating procedures. Jack and Matt share a vision for change and are ready to tackle Delaware's budget problems and our other difficult challenges.

I urge Delawareans to vote for Markell and Denn. Give our state a chance to flourish under their direction. They have the ability and a plan during these hard times, to bring us all together to make Delaware a state we can all be proud to call home.
