Bridges near Seaford to remain closed until inspected
DelDOT
Seaford, DE – At least three roads will remain closed for at least a week, due to flood damage. Many other roads throughout Delaware remain closed due to high water, report officials from the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT).
Three roads near Seaford will remain closed for at least a week, due to damaged bridges. Bridge inspectors and bridge designers made preliminary inspections of the bridges and determined that there is enough damage to keep them closed until a more exhaustive inspection can be conducted.
The roads that will remain closed are:
· Route 20 from the Seaford town limits to Shuffelt Road
· Woodpecker Road, near the intersection of Route 542.
· Ellis Mill Road, between Woodland Ferry Road and Lonesome Road.
In addition to those three roads, many others are closed throughout Delaware, as flood waters remain over the roadways. DelDOT crews are inspecting roads and bridges, while they also clear storm drains and set up barricades.
