Guadalupe Torch and Runners at St. Paul
Tuesday, December 6, 5:00 PM
Pilgrims are running bearing a torch honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, in a sixty-day journey from The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, Mexico to St. Patrick Cathedral in Manhattan, New York. The Torch and Pilgrims will arrive at St. Paul, Wilmington to share in a meal at 5:00 PM and mass and fellowship at 7:00 PM. They will stay overnight at parishioners’ homes in Wilmington.

The 2011 Georgetown Christmas "Balloon" Parade is set for Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m. The route will remain the same as in past years.
More than ever, the Georgetown Chamber wants to showcase our very special Town and community by making the Georgetown Christmas "Balloon" Parade especially festive this year.
The theme in 2011 is "A Vintage Christmas" and Georgetown Chamber of Commerce hopes to have scores of entries that will represent the beautiful diversity of Christmas celebrations from days gone by.

More than 300 scholarships available for 2012-2013 school year
WILMINGTON, Delaware—Delaware students are invited to apply for scholarships available through the Delaware Community Foundation. Last year, the DCF awarded more than 300 scholarships totaling more than $467,000.
A complete list of the scholarships is available in the Delaware Community Foundation Scholarship Compendium, Scholarships to be Awarded for the 2012-2013 School Year at http://www.delcf.org. The Compendium includes criteria and information about each award, as well as applications. The submission deadline for the majority of scholarships is April 1, 2011.

Camilo, Adiel, Etefany y Elías quisieron compartir el 22 de Noviembre en el auditorio de Sussex Central HS sus historias de superación personal con los jóvenes estudiantes de los últimos grados del centro.
Hablaron de sus vivencias (llenas de perseverancia y dificultades de todo tipo). Destacaron un pensamiento común "muchas personas tienen un trabajo pero no una carrera". Ellos tuvieron claro que la oportunidad de estudiar en Delaware Technical College era la oportunidad de estudiar una carrera y siguieron su sueño.

Delaware’s Prevailing Wage: A Long History of Taxpayer Abuse
In March of this year, Caesar Rodney Institute’s Center for Economic Policy and Analysis released a technical study of the methodology behind Delaware’s prevailing wage system. With regard to the prevailing wage (PW) the study documented that: a) the methodology used by the Department of Labor was seriously flawed, b) the PW was biased toward union collective bargaining wage rates, and c) the PW was 40% above the market wage for experienced construction workers.

Just Advice will be in Salisbury and Princess Anne on Fri Nov 18 and Sat Nov 19.

Governor honors Delaware's Veterans names veteran to supplier Diversity Council
“For hundreds of years, so many Americans have made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Markell. “They put their lives on the line to join our armed forces – defending our nation and earning along the way the noble title of Veteran. That service is remembered with particular reverence and honor this Veterans Day.”
