Feb 5: Todos al agua en Rehoboth Beach
Rehoboth Beach, DE - El evento anual del "Polar Bear Plunge" (Osos polares al agua) tendrá lugar el domingo 5 de febrero a la 1 pm en la playa de Rehoboth.
Auspiciado por Wawa y Comcast, el "Polar Bear Plunge" cumple 21 años y beneficia directamente a la organización Special Olympics de Delaware, que organiza competiciones deportivas para personas con discapacidades.
Se pueden registrar en la página de internet (http://plungede.org) hasta el 31 de enero.

Celebración de La Esperanza de la festividad de Los Reyes Magos
El Viernes 6 de Enero, Sus Majestades los Reyes Magos de Oriente, acudieron fieles a su cita anual con los niños de Georgetown.
En la Iglesia Presbiteriana de Georgetown situada en North Bedford Street se celebró la fiesta de los Tres Reyes organizada por el centro comunitario de La Esperanza situado en Georgetown.
El acto contó con actuaciones, diversión, y lo más importante la asistencia de Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar que además de hacer las delicias de los más pequeños, repartieron regalos a todos los niños que fueron buenos durante el año 2011.

Delaware Guard to appoint first female Assistant Adjutant General
On Sunday, January 8, the Delaware National Guard will host a change of command ceremony for the Delaware Air National Guard at its base in New Castle.
The change of command will be for the Assistant Adjutant General, Air, who leads over 1,000 Delaware Air Guardsmen and advises the Adjutant General on all matters relating to the equipping, training, and personnel of the Delaware Air National Guard.
Sunday’s ceremony will see the passing of command from retiring Brig. Gen. Wayne Merritt to Brig. Gen. Carol Timmons. Hundreds of Airmen will be in formation viewing.

Delaware State Troopers Spread Holiday Cheer
Wilmington, DE – On Wednesday, December 7th, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children had some special holiday visitors.
Santa Claus, accompanied by Delaware State Troopers, stopped by to greet children and give them a special holiday gift. This year, the visit also included Mrs. Claus and Rudolph, and many elves, among others.
The police officers were escorted by members of the Child Life staff as they visited each room, asking the children if they’d been good, and offering words of encouragement.

NRG Dover power plant conversion to natural gas mostly a plus
NRG will convert an eighteen megawatt capacity coal fired electric generating plant to natural gas. The project will cost $26.5 million in total and will create seventy-five construction jobs for a year. It will reduce air pollution, increase efficiency, and will save money in the long run.
Overall this is a win for Delaware, NRG, and hopefully a portent of future added electric generation in the state. Delaware imports 60% of its electricity and pays a premium price for electricity because we add to grid congestion.
The State of Delaware will provide a half million dollar grant to NRG....

"A los 9 años me dí cuenta que la música era para mí, mi vida" dijo el barítono chileno Javier Arrey, a preguntas de la audiencia. No muy diferente fueron las impresiones que la soprano uruguaya Mª Eugenia Antúnezº compartía con los asistentes "Cuando era niña no podía parar de cantar""La música introduce en las lenguas y ofrece muchas respuestas."

Guadalupe Torch and Runners at St. Paul

Pilgrims are running bearing a torch honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, in a sixty-day journey from The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, Mexico to St. Patrick Cathedral in Manhattan, New York. The Torch and Pilgrims will arrive at St. Paul, Wilmington to share in a meal at 5:00 PM and mass and fellowship at 7:00 PM. They will stay overnight at parishioners’ homes in Wilmington.
