WASHINGTON – Tonight, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) released the following reaction to President Obama’s address on the American Jobs Act:
“Tonight, the President has once again charged Congress with redoubling our efforts to put Delawareans and Americans back to work by providing what I refer to as a nurturing environment for job creation. Administration economists and officials keep touting the multiplier effects from additional government spending. Extended unemployment benefits generate more than a dollar’s worth of activity in the economy. More agricultural subsidies will pump up economic growth.

Irene Makes Landfall in New Jersey, Approaching NYC
State College, PA (28 August 2011) - AccuWeather.com reports Irene continues to move north along the coast of the Mid-Atlantic, and will bring flooding rains, damaging winds and coastal flooding to the Northeast today.

Watchdog calls for investigation into Delaware mystery corporation's million dollar PAC donation
Washington, DC — Campaign finance watchdog Public Campaign Action Fund called on Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden to investigate whether wealthy donors are illegally exploiting Delaware law to fund political committees upon news reports that a company registered in Delaware seemingly for the sole purpose of making a $1 million donation to a Mitt Romney-aligned super PAC, Restore Our Future.
