The Obama Administration has announced new regulations to be published for comment by US Citizenship and Immigration Services that will address a long standing hardship visited on American families by current immigration regulations. For U. S. citizens who are married to persons who are in the United States illegally, daily life carries the certainty that normalcy can never be achieved. Apprehension at breakfast in Delaware can mean dinner in Mexico, with a family left behind without means of financial support. No community benefits when such a scenario unfolds.

Richard Evans of Sussex Central High School has been named Delaware’s 2012 Assistant Principal of the Year
Richard Evans of Sussex Central High School has been named Delaware’s 2012 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Delaware Association of School Administrators.
Evans was nominated for the award by Indian River School District Superintendent Susan Bunting. As a state winner, he is now eligible for the National Assistant Principal of the Year Award sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
“It’s pretty exciting,” Evans said. “It does validate what we’ve done here, but I’m just a small piece of it. It’s because your school has been successful.”

College scholarships available to Local Latino High School Seniors
PHILADELPHIA (December 5, 2011) - Ronald McDonald House Charities and the McDonald’s® Owner/Operators of the Greater Philadelphia Region are seeking qualified applicants to apply for the RMHC/HACER scholarship program for Latino high school seniors.
The HACER program will award fifteen (15) total scholarships, two (2) at $5,000 and thirteen (13) at $1,000, to eligible Latino students throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware.

Sussex Technical High School is planning a big “Rave Review” party to celebrate its 20th birthday and the 50th anniversary of the vo-tech school. The event will take place at the school on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 6 until 10 p.m. All graduates and friends are invited.

August 12 & 13: treasures from the Library of Congress in Dover
A specially-designed 18-wheel truck is bringing treasures and information from the Library of Congress into cities and towns across America.
Beginning in September 2010, the "Gateway to Knowledge" rolling exhibition is visiting up to 60 sites in states across the Midwest and South through September 2011.
The truck, staffed and driven by two docents well-versed in the Library and its collections will be in Dover on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13.
